Bodega Finder ("the app") helps you find corner stores in New York City. This policy explains what data the app collects and why. You do not need an account to use Bodega Finder, and we never ask for your name, email, or phone number to use it.

Information we collect

• Location. With your permission, the app uses your device location to center the map and show bodegas near you. Your location is used to display the map and request nearby stores; we do not store your location history or use it to identify you. You can deny or revoke location access in your device settings at any time — the app still works, centered on NYC.
• Usage and device data (analytics). We use Amplitude to understand how the app is used (for example, which filters are tapped and which screens are viewed) so we can improve it. This includes a randomly generated device identifier and general device information (such as device type and operating system). It is not linked to your real-world identity and is not used for advertising or to track you across other apps or websites.
• Content you submit. When you add a bodega or submit a report, we collect the information you provide (such as store name, address, features, hours) and any photos or receipts you choose to upload, so we can add and verify stores on the map.

How we use information

• To show you nearby bodegas and their details.
• To add, verify, and correct stores on the map.
• To measure and improve the app's performance and features.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run the app (such as Amplitude for analytics and our hosting/API provider), and where required by law. Information you submit about a store (not personal contact details) may appear publicly in the app.

Data retention

Analytics data is retained only as long as needed to understand app usage. Store submissions are retained as part of the public bodega dataset.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
